Fakenham cakewalk for Biscotti

Miss Biscotti delighted sweet-toothed longshot backers when claiming a 100/1 win under Nico De Boinville at Fakenham.

The jockey enjoyed a rollercoaster time at Fakenham when being unseated from the favourite in one race, only to surprise everybody in the last race of the day.

Trainer Martin Bosley and De Boinville were represented by 7/2 chance Carobello, who unseated his rider the fifth and later had to be taken for treatment to an equine hospital.

There was a delay ahead of the last race in order to wait for veterinary cover, but the wait proved worthwhile when Miss Biscotti, tailed off and beaten well over 70 lengths at the same price on her recent debut at Warwick, made every yard, slipped the field turning for home and stayed on to score by three lengths from Sudden Wish.

"That's racing all over isn't it, but that's a big boost," De Boinville told At The Races.

"She's so genuine, It's only her second run but no-one else wanted to run so she popped out lovely and kept quickening all the way to the line. She jumped really well."
