Fakenham inspect for Sunday

Fakenham will stage an inspection at 3pm on Saturday afternoon to assess prospects for racing on Sunday.

The track was described as frozen in places and unraceable at 8.30am on Saturday morning and frost is the prevailing concern for officials.

Clerk of the course David Hunter said: "We had a colder night than forecast at minus 2C and we're due another cold night tonight, so we'll have an inspection at 3pm and see how things pan out and also whether we would be raceable today at our scheduled race time for tomorrow.

"If we weren't able to race today then with the forecast as it is tonight, on the back of the frost last night, it would make it impossible as we would be going into the night colder than yesterday. Snow is not an issue, it's the frost."
