James Hall has been suspended for two weeks by Newcastle Falcons for punching an opponent.
Hall was found guilty of punching an opponent during the Falcons' 31-15 win over Plymouth Albion in the RFU Championship on November 30.
The 26-year-old prop-forward appeared to react after being blocked by Albion's Aaron Carpenter.
The club held an internal disciplinary earlier this week and handed him a 14-day ban which will see him miss the British and Irish Cup double-header with Newport.
The club said in a statement: "The foul play by James Hall during last week's game against Plymouth was unacceptable.
"James regrets his actions, and has shown a willingness to improve his future conduct."
