Fallon gets Godolphin derby ride
Kieren Fallon is set to ride Investec Derby contender True Story in the Dante Stakes as part of a new Godolphin link-up.
The six-times champion jockey rode a number of winners for Saeed bin Suroor at the Dubai Carnival earlier this year and the trainer is eager to continue using Fallon alongside retained rider Silvestre de Sousa.
Fallon has duly been handed the mount on True Story, winner of the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket on his reappearance, and a leading fancy for Epsom glory at ante-post odds of 7/1.
Bin Suroor told www.godolphin.com: "We enjoyed using Kieren Fallon in Dubai earlier this year, both as a jockey and a work rider.
"He came to Al Quoz and exercised the horses every morning as well as recording major wins at Meydan on Prince Bishop and Excellent Result.
"Kieren is a world-class jockey, who has recorded many Group One victories, and we would like to continue using him.
"He rode True Story in his work on Saturday morning and we have decided that he will partner the colt in the Betfred Dante Stakes.
"We hope to be well-represented at all of the major British meetings this year and Kieren will ride for us along with Silvestre de Sousa.
"Both jockeys are integral members of our team and we are looking forward to another successful European campaign."
Fallon returned to the spotlight on Saturday as he rode 40/1 shot Night Of Thunder to win the Qipco 2000 Guineas for Richard Hannon.
