Famous five for super Quevega

Quevega equalled Golden Miller's record in landing her fifth consecutive David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle.

The nine-year-old jumped and travelled well in the early stages of the contest as Epee Celeste went hard from the front, but as that one folded and Sirene D'Ainay (33/1) took up the running, Quevega looked to be in trouble.

Approaching the final flight she began to hit top stride, though, and in the end she was able to win going away from the French mare, who ran an almighty race in second.

Swincombe Flame (40/1) had been prominent and kept on well for fourth under Daryl Jacob.
