Farah: 2012 won't be topped

Double Olympic champion Mo Farah does not believe he will ever top his achievements of this year after his success at London 2012.

Farah ran his way into the record books by claiming gold in the 5,000m and 10,000m to help Team GB to their most successful Olympics since 1908.

The Somali-born athlete has also recently become a father to twins Aisha and Amani and remarked: "What a year I've had - it's never going to be the same again.

"The Olympics has been brilliant. It couldn't have gone any better than becoming double Olympic champion in front of your home crowd.

"I wish the Olympics could come around every year."

Farah is now set on getting back into training at his base in America in preparation for the 2013 World Athletics Championships in Moscow.

The Great Britain team will be lead by a new head coach in Peter Eriksson, with the Swede replacing Charles van Commenee in the hot seat.

But the change at the top should have little effect on Farah, who sticks very close to his personal team.

"Charles has been a great guy. When you're athletes at my level it's completely different, you can only do so much," he said.

"I used to have a chat to him now and then, but I've got my whole team around me in the US - that's my team out there."

Farah was joined by 400m hurdler Perri Shakes-Drayton in promoting the new Nike+ Kinect Training game for XBox.

Shakes-Drayton is also back on the training regime having suffered heartbreak in London, missing out on an Olympic final by one place.

But the athlete, who was born only a few miles from the Olympic stadium, is hoping to use the near-miss to spur her on in future.

"I've learnt to accept what happened," she said. "Obviously I was gutted, but I'm still young - there's a lot more competitions coming up.

"The disappointment I felt then I'm going to channel into the future. I'm hoping for good things."
