Featherstone win Euro crown
Featherstone were crowned European champions after beating French table-toppers Pia 48-22 at the Bigfellas Stadium on Sunday.
Rovers' eight-try romp completed a clean sweep of victories for the leading Championship clubs over their French counterparts during the weekend, with Leigh beating Avignon 44-10, Halifax gaining a 58-26 victory over Toulouse and Sheffield Eagles earning a 40-12 win over Carcassonne.
Featherstone never looked back after half-back Andy Kain scored two tries in the first 10 minutes.
Tim Spears, Jon Grayshon, Jack Briscoe, Greg Worthington and Jon Hepworth also grabbed tries, all converted by Liam Finn, as Rovers took first advantage of the slope to build up a 42-0 lead.
Pia pulled a try back just before half-time through centre Mathieu Mayans and the visitors got their game together to dominate the scoring after the break.
Winger Windy Buche grabbed two tries and former Featherstone half-back Maxime Gresque added one in addition to kicking three goals before Briscoe scored his second try for Rovers in the last minute, with Finn taking his goal tally to eight from as many attempts.
