Federer to cut down schedule
Roger Federer is set to cut down on the number of tournaments he takes part in as he eyes the 2016 Olympics.
A gold medal in the singles at the Olympics is one thing that alludes one of tennis greats, with a silver at the London games this year is best showing, although he has triumphed in the doubles.
The 31-year-old has always been one of the fittest players on the circuit but as he reaches the latter stages of his career, the Swiss maestro is aware that he needs to be mindful of his workload - especially if he is to have a shot at gold at the 2016 Olympics.
"I have to make sure that I take care of my schedule, of my body, of my mind,'' he said during a visit to Brazil to play in an exhibition match.
"Hopefully I can still stay on tour for many more years and hopefully play the Olympics here in three and a half years or so, so I have to look far ahead and not just the next six months.''
