Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been fined £12,000 by the FA for criticising a match official.
The Red Devils boss was furious after his side conceded a late equaliser at Tottenham in January - insisting the visitors should have been awarded a penalty for Steven Caulker's trip on Wayne Rooney.
Referee's assistant Simon Beck was the subject of the ire of the Scot, who said in the wake of the 1-1 draw: "It was a clear decision. And he [Beck] was 10, maybe 12 yards away from the incident and he doesn't give it. And yet he gave everything else."
"There was no way we were going to get a decision from [Beck].
"We remember him well from his time at the Chelsea game when Didier Drogba was three yards offside and he gave onside. I think he had a shocking game today, and I'm disappointed in his performance, I really am.
"I think he has had a bad game, and we never got anything from that side of the pitch. We got a bad break."
The FA charged Ferguson with a breach of rule E3, and have subsequently found him guilty at a private hearing despite his pleas to the contrary.

what do you think?
Is that it....surprise surprise.
Well done cilla you were on the wrong channel.
£12k? What a joke! When will the F.A realise the only thing that will shut up bully boy fergie is a points deduction. Fergie isn't stupid, he knows how it all works. If you have a problem take it to the F.A, dont spit your bile and try to embarress a linesman on T.V
How is that a joke when big sam only got a £8k fine???
Where's your comments on allerdyce? or only a certain individual 12k would get a new chin!!!!
Maybe Sam doesn't do it as much as fergie, rhat might have something to do with difference in fines
keep hoping for points deductions, your only chance of catching United but the gap is getting bigger all the time City need 10 minimum Chelsea 15 Arsenal 20 Liverpool 30 Anyone else want to bid? lol
Wow thats gonna hurt him.
no whisky for a month
Thats onli a minor amount of money the points deduction wasnt ever gna happen nyway not on a club like that make him apologise publicly that wud have him choke on his chewin gum lol x
Jagdip Singh Dani
is that it? might as well undercut the linesman next time and see what it increases to?
Jagdip Singh Dani
that was uppercut.
Stupid or what!!!
Sandra as an arsenal fan your comments are hilarious!!! hypocrite springs to mind.
Lol thats just my point aw generally rants on the sidelines an doesnt go 2 far just seems 2 kno where the line is drawn unlike saf an remember the survey that was dun showrd that arsenal were actually more sinned against than sinning so thats y i made the point lol x
Like him you only see what you want when it suits you.
Does anyone complain more than Wenger, does any team have more players sent off than Arsenal, shhhh , can only criticise SAF, no-one criticises other managers - oops! Trophyless for 8 years - must be doing something right?
How about banning him from his local masonic lodge? I feel sure a few dodgy handshakes have helped him over the years.
when you watch the penalty decision i think the officials got it right as its rooney who kicks the back of caulkers leg then falls over, its a trick that ranaldo has won many penalties with, so fergie got it wrong again
You must be something special if all the refs have been fooled apart from you any other players you've noted doing or only those that had anything to do with fergie?
Why does everyone hate fergie? Must be jealousy, you hear managers moan about decisions all the time, and they never get points deducted. sounds like wishful city fan thinking to me
Who would want him managing their team I wouldn't.
The spurs game Man Utd had lots of changes to kill the game off but right at the end spurs scored. It's like the spurs/man Utd game years ago when the ball crossed the line by miles but the linesmen didn't give it and cost spurs 3 points. Why can't theses managers just admit there were not good enough that day to beat whoever and stop blaming the refs.
Diane thats because you would cut your nose off to spite your face and your team have spent 20 yrs as also rans behind his.
I'm sure Fergie would be most upset to hear that as he has spent 20yrs haunting you and still is!!!!!
of course it is jealousy, every little thing these idiots can find to complain about just because they know that they have no hope in hell of ever emulating what United have achieved and will achieve in the future. Their only hope is a points deduction - suppose they have to hope for something
I'm not a big fan of Man Utd but I do agree that they should come down harder on managers who say bad things to officials like bigger fines and longer touchline bans. If Andy Gray&Richard Keys get sacked for saying how poor it is having a female official then the FA really need to come down hard on theses managers.
Do the same where you work and you should rightly get the sack!!!!!
Typical of the FA just Pathetic!! Why don't they try keeping him away from at least 12 games or take his knighthood away then the penny might drop. What an example set by a peer of the realm!!

They wanted a 6 point deduction, doesn't look like 6 points will be enough, maybe 20 and they may have a chance
Nice to see so many sour city fans shouting from under the woodwork!
Ist it was Liverpool followed by Chelsea & now it looks like city and he's a pensioner!!!! for he's a JOLLY GOOD FELLA and long may he reign.
