
David Ferrer booked his place in the quarter-finals of the Swedish Open with a 6-4 6-3 win over Italy's Simone Bolelli.
Playing his first tournament since reaching the last eight at Wimbledon, the Spaniard proved too strong for Bolelli, breaking the Italian four times to come through in 74 minutes.
Spanish wild-card Tommy Robredo continued his fine run with a 6-3 6-1 win over Joao Souza of Brazil, but fourth seed Jarkko Nieminen and seventh seed Filippo Volandri fell to Jan Hajek and Jurgen Zopp respectively.
Sixth seed Grigor Dimitrov beat Brazil's Rogerio Dutra Silva 6-1 6-4 in the first round.
