Feuer aiming to blitz Darley rivals
Feuerblitz will add a dash of Bavarian colour to the Darley Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.
The German-trained colt was a Listed winner on his most recent start in France in September, and is poised to travel from his home in Munich to contest the Group Three over nine furlongs.
Although trainer Michael Figge will have concerns if the ground is too fast, he has nonetheless gone out of his way to appoint jockey Thierry Thulliez.
The French-based rider was aboard Feuerblitz when the partnership struck in a quagmire at Strasbourg racecourse in September.
Figge said: "He won very well at Strasbourg on his last start, but a lot of his best runs have been on soft ground.
"I do not think it will be soft ground in Newmarket. That might be a problem, but he is still coming over to run.
"I like English jockeys a lot, but Thierry did well at Strasbourg and he said 'yes' when we asked him to come over to ride him in England."
