Feyenoord snub Italian offer

Feyenoord's technical director Martin van Geel has revealed that they have turned down an offer from an Italian club for one of their players.

The likes of Stefan De Vrij and Daryl Janmaat have been linked with moves to Italy recently with Lazio credited with an interest in De Vrij and Napoli thought to be keen on Janmaat.

Van Geel has claimed Feyenoord rejected the advances from the Serie A side for the mystery player and that the Dutch club are under no pressur to sell any of their stars.

"Lately there has been a lot of confusion in the media," Van Geel told the club's official website.

"We regret these rumours as some fans have been restless. An Italian club has made an offer, which we considered inappropriate.

"After that, despite the rumours, there has been no further contact. We don't want to sell.

"We don't have to sell any of our players. We understand that some of our players maybe want to make a step to a foreign side this summer, but at this stage we have a clear view."
