Firmino stays at Hoffenheim
Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino has ended speculation over his future by agreeing a new deal at the club.
The 22-year-old has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea after catching the eye for Hoffenheim this season.
The Brazilian playmaker has scored 13 goals and also produced 11 assists in 26 games this season to make him one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga.
Firmino's previous deal was due to expire in the summer of 2015, but Hoffenheim have moved to extend it for a futher two years to secure his long-term future and ward off any potential suitors.
"I am really excited about being at Hoffenheim 1899," Firmino told the club's official website. "I really like the idea the club is after. We are playing a thrilling way and the team spirit among the squad is just great."
Hoffeheim manager Markus Gisdol was delighted to secure Firmino on a new deal and paid tribute to the club for sorting out the player's future.
"It's very good news for the club," noted Gisdol. "My compliments to (Hoffenheim general manager) Alexander Rosen for working out this agreement.
"Roberto Firmino is an important player of our squad."
