Flemenstar scan is delayed

Flemenstar will not have his tendon scanned until the end of the week with connections keen to let the swelling go down first.

Trainer Tony Martin had planned on having the scan earlier to enable his team to give him a prognosis of the injury he picked up just hours before a scheduled run in the John Durkan Chase.

Flemenstar banged his off-fore tendon and while it is not strained, Martin feels the knock is likely to keep the Grade One winner off the track for the remainder of this season.

"He's just having box rest at the moment but it doesn't look good," said Martin.

"We'll have him scanned later this week. We were going to have it done earlier in the week but we've decided to give the swelling as much time as possible to go down.

"We'll know much more after he's had the scan."
