Flood linked with Toulouse

Leicester and England fly-half Toby Flood will move to Toulouse at the end of the season, according to French media reports.

The 28-year-old reportedly told his Leicester team-mates in an email that he is moving to the Top 14 heavyweights.

"According to our information, Toby Flood has chosen to commit to Stade Toulousain," reported RMC Sport on Thursday.

"He had to make his choice before the end of the month and announced his departure from Leicester. That's what he did today."

Flood responded to the reports with a tweet on Friday: "To confirm, I've not agreed to anything and as I've said before I will decide in January. Thanks."

Flood has won 60 caps for England but a move to the Top 14 would rule him out of contention for the 2015 World Cup.

Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill has already been eyeing up replacements for Flood, with Rhys Priestland and Freddie Burns both linked with a move to Welford Road.

"Yes, I have spoken to Priestland's representatives," Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury.

"I am sure there are lots of clubs who would like him - and there are rumours of Gloucester - but it's just how it fits in.

"Priestland and Flood are of a similar age and have similar experience.

"Priestland has not got as many caps as Flood but he is a very good player and there are not many fly-halves on the market."

Flood has been omitted from Tigers' matchday squad for Saturday's Aviva Premiership trip to Saracens in order to adhere to the England Elite Player Squad agreement.
