Flyers downed by Stingrays

The Hull Stingrays extended their winning streak to three on Sunday night as they beat the Fife Flyers 3-2 by the Humber.

Dominic Osman and player-coach Sylvain Cloutier both scored for the home side, as did Janis Ozolins who took his tally for the season to 11.

Canadian duo Jeff Caistor and Jason Pitton were on target for Fife.

Thirteen goals were scored on a lively night in Belfast, as the Giants beat struggling Coventry 8-5 in a thriller at the Odyssey Arena.

Darryl Lloyd and Noah Clarke scored a brace apiece for Doug Christansen's men, with their main resistence coming from Doug Cameron who scored two himself.

Belfast are top of the table on account of having won more games than Nottingham - also on 23 but in cup action tonight - with Cardiff still fourth after a shock loss to basement outfit Edinburgh tonight.

They were beaten 4-2 at home by the Scots, who would not surrender the fine start they made through Russell Hartmann and Martin Cingel, with further strikes coming from Slovakian Rene Jarolin (two).
