Flyers see off Stingrays

The second-bottom Fife Flyers boosted their hopes of a late run towards the Elite League play-offs with a 7-3 success at Hull Stingrays.

Jordan Fulton scored twice early on, although Carl Lauzon had the final word in the opening period to pull the hosts back to 1-2.

Danny Stewart restored the Flyers' two-goal cushion at 24.44 on the powerplay, but only 38 seconds later player-coach Sylvain Cloutier pulled his side back to within one once again.

Tim Hartung made it 4-2, though, before a late powerplay effort at 38.24 by Derek Roehl added a fifth, and the visitors went 6-2 ahead at 51.44 thanks to a delayed penalty goal by Roehl.

Kyle Haines then scored Flyers' seventh at 57.50 before Guillaume Doucet grabbed a late consolation for the Stingrays.
