Flynn leaves Doncaster role

Doncaster Rovers have announced that Brian Flynn has left his role with the League One club.

The former Wales Under-21 coach has been director of scouting at Rovers for the past 12 months but a restructure of the set-up at the Keepmoat Stadium, part of which will see captain Rob Jones combine his playing duties with taking charge of the development squad, has led to his departure.

A statement on Doncaster's official website said: "Following a restructure after relegation from the Championship, Doncaster Rovers can confirm that Brian Flynn has left the club.

"The club wish to thank Brian for all of his help during the past two years and wish him well for the future."

Flynn will be most fondly remembered by Rovers supporters for his short spell as manager at the end of the 2012/13 season - a campaign which saw the club win the League One title and promotion to the Championship in the final minute of the final game of the season.
