Fogden excited by Pompey move

Midfielder Wes Fogden admitted a move to Portsmouth was too good an opportunity to turn down.

Fogden, 25, has joined Pompey on a free transfer from south-coast rivals Bournemouth on an 18-month deal and could make his debut against Mansfield on Saturday.

Fogden told Portsmouth's website: "Everyone knows what a big club this is and the fans here are also a huge attraction. This is a brilliant opportunity for me.

"I played here last season in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and the supporters were fantastic.

"But what really stood out was when they came to Bournemouth. We came out for a warm down after the game and the fans were still there and singing away.

"I'll work hard and give everything for the cause to try to help give the side a boost."
