Foran making swift progress

Inverness boss Terry Butcher has revealed striker Richie Foran is likely to return to action in the near future.

The 32-year-old limped off after sustaining a knee injury in the recent match against Highland rivals Ross County.

Butcher feared the in-form frontman would be out of action for a lengthy spell, but Foran could even be included in the squad to face Dundee on Friday.

"The injury, thankfully, is not as bad as we first thought," said Butcher. "There's no operation needed, so that's a massive boost to everyone.

"It is just a case of being careful and nursing Richie's knee back to health. He has a very strong pain threshold and often plays on with an injury, so we knew it had to be something serious for him to come off against Ross County.

"It's just great news that he won't be out for a lengthy spell. I wouldn't like to put any kind of time limit on it or say he is definitely out of this game or that .

"I don't know yet if he will have a chance of playing on Friday. It was quite an impact on his knee but he is showing great resolve."
