Non-league winger Stephen McLaughlin is close to securing a dream move to Championship club Nottingham Forest.
The Derry City youngster recently had a week-long trial at the City Ground and says he would be delighted to sign a professional deal in England.
McLaughlin will have a medical in Nottingham on Tuesday and it has been reported that Forest will pay around £200k plus add-ons for his signature.
He told the Londonderry Sentinel: "It has been a long couple of weeks, not knowing what was going to happen, but hopefully now everything will be sorted out.
"If I get the opportunity to sign for Forest then yes I'll be over the moon. Who wouldn't be delighted?
"I enjoyed my trial with Forest. It's a massive step up from League of Ireland, because there are better players, better facilities and better training." Don't miss any live and exclusive football coverage this festive season. Click to visit Sky Sports' Festive Calendar
