Nottingham Forest manager Sean O'Driscoll will cast his eye over an out-of-contract defender next week.
Daniel Ayala was forced off during the 2-2 draw with Blackpool on Tuesday night with a hamstring problem, and with Sam Hutchinson (knee) and Jamaal Lascelles (bone bruising) already sidelined, Forest's defensive problems are mounting.
On top of that, Greg Halford is on the brink of a suspension with four yellow cards to his name.
O'Driscoll did not reveal the identity of the player coming in on trial but did say that it was someone the club had scouted in the past.
