French stars in Eclipse mix

French stars Treve and Cirrus Des Aigles feature among a stellar list of 52 entries for the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on July 5.

Criquette Head-Maarek's stunning Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Treve lost her unbeaten record at the hands of Cirrus Des Aigles in a thrilling Prix Ganay at Longchamp last weekend.

The two highest-rated horses in Europe look set to do battle again in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot in June and a potential third clash could be on the cards at Sandown.

France has three other entries in the Jean Claude Rouget-trained pair of Gonna Run and Prince Gibraltar and Andre Fabre's Ocovango, who was fifth in last year's Investec Derby at Epsom.

Aidan O'Brien is responsible for 15 of the 18 Irish representatives, with the likes of Australia, Magician and Ruler Of The World all in contention.

The Dermot Weld-trained Fascinating Rock and Ger Lyons' Obliterator also hold entries, as does last year's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby winner, Trading Leather, trained by Jim Bolger.

John Gosden has three entries, including the unbeaten Western Hymn, while Andrew Balding has given the option to bet365 Mile winner Tullius.
