Friday at Wimbledon

Andy Murray is set to face the first major test in the defence of his Wimbledon crown when he takes on Spainard Roberto Bautista Agut in their third-round clash on Centre Court on Friday.

The Bristish no 1 was in imperious form against Blaz Rola last time, losing just two games as he powered through 6-1 6-1 6-0.

But it should be much tougher against 27th seed Bautista Agut as Murray bids to become the first British player to retain the Wimbledon crown in 77 years.

The 26-year-old Spaniard is enjoying his best season to date and underlined his threat when winning his maiden ATP Tour title on grass in the Netherlands last week.

While the pair have never played each other, Murray practised with his opponent on clay in Valencia in April and knows he must step up to prevail.

Murray is third on Centre Court, with the man he defeated in last year's final - Novak Djokovic, first up against Gilles Simon.

The top seed was pushed to four sets last time against Radek Stepanek, while French baseliner Simon has yet to drop a set.

Five-time women's champion Venus Williams is in action in between, with the 30th-seeded American taking on sixth seed Petra Kvitova.

Women's second seed Li Na is first up on Court One, taking on unseeded Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, while other matches see 11th seed Grigor Dimitrov play Alexandr Dolgopolov, seeded 21, and sixth seed Tomas Berdych take on 26th-rated Marin Cilic.
