Friday night all right for Coupe

This season's Coupe de France final looks set to be switched to a Friday night to avoid a clash with the Top 14 rugby union final.

Both the French Football Federation (FFF) and the rugby union's national governing body, the National Rugby League (LNR), had earmarked Saturday, June 1 for their showpiece occasions.

FFF president Noel Le Graet indicated his organisation - whose website lists that date as 'to be confirmed' - would be the one to make way.

"The final will probably be played on a Friday," he told L'Equipe. "It's a very good night. The date remains to be finalised with our partners.

"The two federations both wanted the Saturday. It must be reviewed and we will respond quickly."
