FT: Cardiff 2 Peterborough 0
Chris Burke and Anthony Gerrard were on the mark as Cardiff cemented their hold on a play-off place with a routine victory over lowly Peterborough.
The Posh, yet to earn a win bonus on their travels this term, strove manfully but did not have the requisite guile in front of goal to make it count.
Peter Whittingham was the provider for the first as he crossed for Jay Bothroyd to head down to former Rangers man Burke (30) to tuck home his seventh of the season.
Gerrard (78) then latched on to a flick-on and fired home the second goal from four yards to settle the home nerves.
Bothroyd had earlier hit a post while George Boyd headed wide from Ryan Bennett's cross in the visitors' best chance of the opening half.
Although Aaron Mclean did fire another half chance over the top, but for the efforts of Joe Lewis, it could have been a much heavier Posh defeat.
