Milan and Real Madrid still have work to do to qualify from Champions League Group C after a draw at the San Siro.

Real started brightly and Dida tipped over a Karim Benzema effort before Sergio Ramos and Benzema fired just wide, while Iker Casillas blocked Alexandre Pato's shot at the other end.

The visitors took the lead on 30 when Dida could only parry Kaka's deflected shot and Benzema turned the ball home.

However, Milan levelled just five minutes later when Pepe was harshly adjudged to have handled Gianluca Zambrotta's cross and Ronaldinho slammed home the resulting penalty.

Pato was then unfortunate to have an effort chalked off for a foul on Alvaro Arbeloa.

The second half saw fewer chances, although Massimo Ambrosini and Filippo Inzaghi should have netted from close range for the hosts, while Dida made two superb saves late on to deny Marcelo and sub Raul.
