FT: Rubin Kazan 0 Barcelona 0

Rubin Kazan proved their Nou Camp victory was no fluke by frustrating the Champions League holders in another tightly-fought Group F clash.

The Russian champions rode their luck during the first half, but Barcelona ran out of ideas after the break and remain level on points with Rubin.

Their best chance of revenge for defeat a fortnight ago came and went with barely two minutes gone, Zlatan Ibrahimovic striking the outside of a post when clean through.

Xavi and Lionel Messi went close from difference, while Andres Iniesta wasted a well-worked Ibrahimovic free-kick.

But Victor Valdes was forced into a smart stop from Aleksandr Ryazantsev as half-time approached, and Rubin grew in confidence after the interval.

Twice substitute Aleksandr Bukharov had presentable opportunities after the interval, but first his chest control failed him and then Valdes raced out to block at the striker's feet.
