Gagnon claims maiden victory

Canada's Marie-Michele Gagnon registered her maiden World Cup title with victory in the super-combined event at Altenmarkt in Austria.

Gagnon overturned a near one-and-a-half-second deficit after the first run to win in an aggregate time of two minutes 5.55 second, 0.32secs clear of Austria's Michaela Kirchgasser.

Germany's Maria Hoefl-Riesch was back in third place, enough to see her move back to the top of the overall World Cup standings, while first-run pacesetter Nicole Hosp of Austria could only finish in fourth.
