Sergio Garcia showed what was possible with a stunning recovery from a shocking start in the Players Championship third round at Sawgrass.
Former winner Garcia double-bogeyed the long second to be two over and was still two over for the day after eight holes.
But the Spanish star then birdied six of the next 10 holes in the breezy conditions to burst all the way to four under and joint 16th place, four behind overnight leaders Zach Johnson, Matt Kuchar and Kevin Na.
Tiger Woods remained two under after six holes, missing a six-foot chance at the sixth that would have lifted him to 24th spot. He was 100th after his opening 74, but battled back with a 68 on Friday.
