Gasperini's Palermo ambition
New Palermo coach Gian Piero Gasperini has no doubt about the challenge ahead, but is determined to eliminate the scepticism around the squad.
The former Inter boss has replaced Giuseppe Sannino at Stadio Renzo Barbera, who was sacked at the weekend following a 1-1 draw with Cagliari.
And Gasperini, who took charge of his first training session on Tuesday, believes upcoming matches against Atalanta, Pescara and Chievo give his side an excellent opportunity to kick-start their season.
"I see the scepticism around this team, but I'm very confident," he told reporters.
"Three games in a few days we see as an opportunity to boost ourselves immediately.
"We have before us a balanced championship. I'm sure that we will train a team determined to prove its worth and willing to convince fans through the performance and results."
