Gasquet beaten in Bogota
Top seed Richard Gasquet crashed out of the Claro Open Colombia in Bogota on Friday, losing his quarter-final match 6-3 6-4 against Dominican Republic's Victor Estrella Burgos.
Eighth seed Estrella Burgos made a superb start to the match, breaking world number 14 Gasquet twice to clinch the first set.
The second set went with serve until the 10th game where, leading 5-4, Estrella Burgos broke the Frenchman's serve to take the set and win the match.
Second seed and defending champion Ivo Karlovic joined Estrella Burgos in the semi-finals after disposing of Taiwan's Jimmy Wang 6-3 7-6 (8/6) in the first of the day's last-eight encounters.
The Croatian world number 29 broke his opponent twice to take the first set 6-3 but had to work much harder in the second, finally breaking his opponent's resistance by winning the tie-break to secure victory.
Karlovic, who fired home 21 aces during the match, will face fourth seed Radek Stepanek in the last four after the Czech world number 39 beat home favourite Alejandro Gonzalez 6-4 6-4.
Bernard Tomic completed the semi-final line-up by beating Canadian third seed Vasek Pospisil 6-4 6-4. The Australian takes on Estrella Burgos for a place in Sunday's final.
