GB beaten by Sweden
Great Britain's preparations for next month's EuroBasket tournament suffered another blow with a 85-68 defeat to Sweden in Lublin, Poland.
Eric Boateng led the British scoring with 14 points but the Swedes were always in control thanks to the hot hand of Charlotte Bobcats small forward Jeffery Taylor.
Taylor hit a game-high 33 points and Team GB boss Joe Prunty, who has now seen his side lose their past three warm-up games, admitted problems at the defensive end cost them dear.
"Defensively, we had lapses, particularly late in the first quarter and into the latter part of the second quarter - those runs hurt us," he told Great Britain's official website, www.gbbasketball.com.
"We had a good third quarter and we talked at half-time about getting the lead down to 10 and accomplished that goal and we wanted to continue that in the fourth but it just didn't happen."
Great Britain meet Poland on Saturday, which will be followed by a double header against former world champions Spain, before their EuroBasket opener against Israel on September 4.
