Gerrard targets fourth spot

Steven Gerrard believes Liverpool can still claim fourth spot in the Premier League, providing they play as well as they did on Sunday at Manchester City.

Gerrard produced a trademark long-range strike in their 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium which left the Anfield club seventh in the table.

The Reds are currently nine points adrift of Tottenham in fourth but the Liverpool skipper has not yet ruled out securing a return to the UEFA Champions League.

Gerrard told Metro: "No disrespect to the sides we've got coming up but if we keep playing like that then we can certainly put in a challenge for fourth place.

"If we perform like that we will pick up a lot of points between now and the end of the season.

"The team is looking really strong at the moment. Before the transfer window we were lacking a bit up front as Luis Suarez was almost having to do two jobs.

"But now Daniel Sturridge has come in and given us more options going forward. Daniel has done brilliantly for us so far."

what do you think?

Of course liverpool can get fourth, wheather they do is another matter. What people like you don't seem to understand is that liverpool had a few terrible seasons under owners who nearly ran the club under the ground, but liverpool are just to big a club to be down for long but bores like you just don't seem to understand that.
