Giants extend Johnson deal

Huddersfield have handed Josh Johnson a contract extension that will keep him at the John Smith's Stadium until the end of the 2016 season.

The 20-year-old prop forward made his Giants debut 12 months ago and has appeared in four of their last Super League matches.

Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson said: "Josh is deserving of a longer opportunity at the club and he is well aware of what he needs to do to keep improving as a professional."

Johnson said: "My aim at the start of the year was to get an early extension to my contract and obviously I am pleased that it's sorted out and I have a great chance here to become a fully-fledged Super League player."
