Giants stay top despite loss

Belfast Giants are 14 points clear at the top of the Elite League despite going down 3-2 against Dundee Stars on Saturday.

Kevin Saurette's goal after 19:45 of the third forced the game into overtime but Nikita Kashirsky struck for Stars who are third level on points with Sheffield Steelers.

Steelers also picked up a 3-2 victory at Braehead Clan, Stefan Meyer scoring the vital goal.

Nottingham Panthers secured an emphatic 9-2 win over Cardiff Devils with Robert Lachowicz and Matt Ryan both scoring three apiece.

Hull Stingrays won 2-1 at Coventry Blaze while Fife Flyers went down 3-1 at home to Edinburgh Capitals.
