Gill fills in after Ferres exit

Castleford's head of youth development Steve Gill has been appointed as interim chief executive after the shock resignation of Steve Ferres.

Gill, 53, a former first team assistant coach, was appointed by chairman Jack Fulton to plug the gap caused by the sudden departure of Ferres, who quit citing differences with the club's board over changes that he believes need to be made.

"I would like to thank Steve for stepping forward to the breach at short notice, albeit on a temporary basis," said Fulton.

"His dedication and devotion to the club is without question and I ask that the fans unite behind Steve and the club during this time."
