Giugliano quickest in Assen
Ducati's Davide Giugliano led the way in the second free practice session ahead of round three of the World Superbike Championship in Assen.
With the weather in Holland warming up following the morning's session, all riders made full use of the improving conditions with no-one able to match Giugliano's time of one minute 35.396 seconds.
The 24-year-old did not have everything his own way as he crashed off in the final chicane in the closing minute of the session but came away unhurt.
The British quartet of Jonathan Rea, Tom Sykes, Alex Lowes and Chaz Davies got the closest to Giugliano, with Honda's Rea the only other rider able to dip under the one minute 36 mark.
Defending champion Sykes was less than three-tenths of a second behind Rea while his Kawasaki team-mate Baz Loris set the sixth-fastest time of the session.
Eugene Laverty was seventh ahead of Aprilla duo Sylvain Guintoli and Marco Melandri while Leon Haslam rounded out the top-10 for Honda.
Rea enjoyed a strong day having set the fastest time in the morning session when Giugliano was only quick enough for third place.
