Glamorgan snap up Aussie Marsh
Glamorgan have signed Australia left-hander Shaun Marsh for this year's Friends Life t20.
The 28-year-old hard-hitting top-order batsman was the leading runscorer at the inaugural Indian Premier League in 2008 and has made 36 one-day international appearances for Australia.
He was also a key part of the Perth Scorchers team that reached this year's Big Bash final in Australia - a side led by Glamorgan's overseas signing Marcus North.
"We are delighted to add Shaun Marsh to the Welsh Dragons squad for the forthcoming Friends Life t20 tournament," Glamorgan head of elite performance Matthew Mott said.
"To bring in a player of Shaun's calibre, a genuine match winner, to the top of the batting order will make us a more potent attacking force and with Shaun's experience of the competition across the world, he will also provide our young guns with a great deal of confidence."
Marsh added: "Having played in both IPL and the Big Bash in Australia, I'm really looking forward to drawing on my experience and hitting some runs when I join up with the Welsh Dragons."
