Goal proved relief for Aspas
Liverpool forward Iago Aspas was delighted to get his first goal for the club since his £7.2m transfer from Celta Vigo last June.
The 26-year-old has endured a frustrating six months in English football as he has struggled to break into an in-form Liverpool side.
Aspas has been restricted to 11 appearances this season and has had to settle for playing out of position at times, with Luis Suarez in such good form.
But the Spaniard was restored to the striker's role for the FA Cup third round visit of Oldham, and he scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 2-0 victory.
"It's wonderful for me to score my first goal here," Aspas said.
"It's difficult when you don't play all the games, but I'm very happy to have scored.
"I played the last game on the right wing and I played as a striker, which is my position."
