Gold for GB juniors

Great Britain's junior male gymnasts were crowned European champions for the fourth consecutive time on Wednesday night.

Nile Wilson led the way as he put in a great performance on all six apparatus to score 85.565 points for the British team - which also included Brinn Bevan, Giarnni-Regini Moran, Jay Thompson and Joe Fraser.

Together they scored 254.094 in total for the gold medal ahead of second-placed Russia with 252.395.

Wilson was delighted with their result and said: "This is my second European junior team title and it's very special. To continue the gold medal tradition in this event had its pressure but we all stood up to the challenge and we are very proud to have kept on that run for our country.''

The championships continue as Britain's senior men's team of Daniel Purvis, Kristian Thomas, Max Whitlock, Daniel Keatings and Sam Oldham compete in their qualification on Thursday.
