Colin Montgomerie and Gary Player - 48 and 76 respectively - are involved in an attempt to break the world record for speed golf this weekend.
The pair are among 25 strategically-placed players trying to go quicker than seven minutes 56 seconds for 18 holes during "Golf Live" at the London Club in Kent.
Three holes will be played six times each in the relay, creating a 6,252-yard par 66 course, and Montgomerie said: "I've done a lot of things in golf, but this would be a new one on me.
"Setting a world record would be a fantastic achievement and I think we can definitely shave at least a few seconds off the current time."
Radio presenter Chris Evans, European Tour winners Oliver Fisher, Thomas Levet and Pablo Larrazabal are also involved over the two days, as is Solheim Cup player Melissa Reid.
