Good news for Nadal
Rafa Nadal is hopeful he will not miss any tournaments because of the back injury which wrecked his Australian Open final.
Nadal was beaten in four sets by Stanislaw Wawrinka in Sunday's Melbourne final, but he was clearly struggling with a lower back problem.
He has since taken anti-inflammatories and undergone intensive physiotherapy and he remains on course to compete in his next scheduled tournament in Buenos Aires, which starts on February 10.
His spokesman said: "Next Monday he will have further tests to evaluate the progress of his recovery and to see if he can gradually start training again."
After Buenos Aires, Nadal is planning to play in Rio de Janeiro - both those tournaments are on clay - before the US hardcourt Masters events at Indian Wells and Miami.
