Grayson hails Davies goal
Preston boss Simon Grayson hailed the performance of Kevin Davies after his side squeezed through to the FA Cup third round at Wycombe.
Davies scored the only goal of the game in the 34th minute to seal a Preston win in a cup tie that lacked any other real quality throughout the 90 minutes.
And now Grayson is turning his attention to the third round draw, where he hopes to come up against former club Leeds.
"A moment of class from Kevin has won us the game," said Grayson. "He just turned and hit it from 30-odd yards and he's probably not scored too many goals like that but it was a fantastic strike worthy of winning any game.
"Kev has been fantastic for us, his awareness and hold up play. He's not had the goal ratio he would have liked but he's been unlucky.
"He'll be delighted to get on the scoresheet. I doubt he'd have scored a better goal in his career.
"We're looking forward to the draw - whether that's a big side to earn a bit of revenue or a home tie with a chance of making the fourth round.
"Leeds was the team I grew up supporting and managed so if that one came out of the hat I'd be delighted."
