Greatrex ponders Baby plan
Baby Mix is set to have his next outing later this month after returning to winning ways on his second start for Warren Greatrex.
The French-bred gelding, who had a spell at Tom George's stable, followed up a promising run behind Balder Succes at Warwick early last month with an 18-length success at Kempton recently.
Greatrex is now looking at races at Ascot and at Kempton around Christmas time for the five-year-old grey.
"I was very happy with that as a confidence-booster. They've put him up 10lb. I'm never pleased to go up that much, but it could have been worse," said the Upper Lambourn trainer.
"Targets wise, I'm not sure. They are a couple of races later in the month at Ascot that could be a possible, or we could go back to Kempton on Boxing Day. There's a two-mile-four handicap chase.
"He's come out of his race well. We'll just chip away as quiet as we can, get his confidence up, and see where we go from there.
"Possibly, in time, we may step him up further in trip to maybe even three miles, but while he's doing what he's doing I'm not in a hurry to do that.
"He's got loads of ability and see where we go from now."
