Greedy Ballance targets more

In-form Gary Ballance is not resting on his laurels as he targets another big score to help England win the fourth Test against India.

Ballance has hit three Test centuries so far this summer, including 156 last time as Alastair Cook's men levelled the five-game series with a 266-run victory at Southampton last week.

Despite becoming only the fifth England batsman to hit three centuries in their first six Tests and being England's leading run scorer this summer, with 603 runs, he is taking nothing for granted and is looking to push on once more at Old Trafford, a match which starts on Thursday live on Sky Sports.

Ballance told Sky Sports: \"It's nice that I've brought a bit of form in from the County Championship and it's nice that I've kicked on a bit and got some good scores.

\"But, you know, like everyone will say to you, you can't take form for granted - you've really got to be greedy and hopefully I can build on those scores and get another score which will put England in a winning position.\"

The Old Trafford wicket should be the fastest and bounciest surface of the series and Ballance is relishing the challenge ahead.

\"I've heard it's going to be a bit quicker, so we'll see,\" he said.

\"I think it's a kind of pitch that's got a bit of something for everyone - a bit of pace and bounce early on in the game and then it spins towards the end.

\"So it's probably going to be something for everything and just be a good cricket wicket and hopefully if the weather stays good, it will be a good game.\"

Jimmy Anderson's spat with Ravindra Jadeja has hit the headlines this series, but Ballance is keen to focus on events on the pitch.

He added: \"There's going to be tension, it's going to be tough and it's going to be hard cricket and hopefully what's happened off the field can be forgotten about - we can just concentrate on playing cricket.\"
