Green out for up to three months

Wigan have confirmed that stand-off Blake Green will be sidelined for up to three months after scans revealed he tore his bicep on Saturday.

The Australian, who is out of contract this year, went off 16 minutes from the end of Saturday's game against Leeds at the Etihad Stadium clutching his arm and will see a specialist.

Coach Shaun Wane said: "He's torn his bicep. It's a two to three-month injury, though obviously we'll have a better idea down the track. It's a blow for Blake and for us, but we'll deal with it."

Green, who was man of the match in Wigan's Grand-Final win over Warrington last October, will miss his club's Tetley's Challenge Cup quarter-final against Castleford next month but will hope to be back for the semi-finals in August if the holders progress.

Wane is set to play the versatile Sam Powell at stand-off in Thursday's First Utility Super League match against Salford at the AJ Bell Stadium.
