Greene named in Wales squad

Reigning Commonwealth champion Dai Greene and Aled Davies have been named in Wales' 33-strong athletics team for Glasgow 2014 next month.

Greene and Davies are joined by a mix of experienced athletes and many who will be competing at their first games, including 16-year-old sprinter Hannah Brier.

The Swansea Harrier has been selected as part of Wales' 4x100m relay squad which includes five Commonwealth Games debutants - Brier, Rachel Johncock, Mica Moore, Hannah Thomas and Lucy Evans.

Meanwhile, in-form duo Carissa Turner and Sarah Thomas will form part of a six-strong Welsh badminton team at the Games.

The pair, who recently won titles in Portugal and Iceland, will team up again in Glasgow as well as competing individually and in the mixed doubles.
