Group B: Stokes sinks Notts
Ben Stokes returned to form with a century to lead Durham to a crushing six-wicket victory over Nottinghamshire in their Royal London One Day Cup Group B fixture at Chester-le-Street.
Stokes, desperately seeking some batting form ahead of England's ODI series with India, cracked a timely 103 to help the north east county chase down 223 with over four overs to spare.
The 23-year-old all-rounder had earlier taken 2-40 to restrict Notts to 222-9, Riki Wessels top-scoring with 44.
The win lifts Durham up to second in Group B but third-placed Somerset were handed a heavy 95-run defeat by the Duckworth-Lewis method at home to Glamorgan.
The Welsh county racked up 289-6 at Taunton, a total later revised to 302 due to rain, with South African opening batsman Jacques Rudolph scoring 111 and Murray Goodwin (62) and Chris Cooke (60) both adding half-centuries.
Somerset never threatened to chase down the target with seam trio Michael Hogan (3-19), Graham Wagg (2-47) and James Harris (2-42) doing the damage with the ball to keep Glamorgan's quarter-final hopes alive.
In Group A, Gloucestershire's clash with rock-bottom Lancashire was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
The point acquired puts the Gladiators level on points with Essex and Yorkshire at the top of the table.
