Groves eyes European title

George Groves will fight Mohamed Ali Ndiaye for the European super-middleweight title.

The Commonwealth champion will take on the Italy-based fighter for the crown which was vacated by James DeGale.

The 33-year-old Ndiaye, who has lost just one of his 23 professional fights, was due to fight De Gale before the British man chose to give up the belt.

Groves, 24, defeated former world champion Glen Johnson on points to extend his unbeaten record at the ExCel Arena in December.

Promote Frank Warren is set to announce a date and venue for the fight on Monday, as well as the, which is set to include world champions Ricky Burns and Nathan Cleverly.

Dereck Chisora, who is currently banned following a brawl with David Haye, could also appear on the bill if he is successful in his reapplication for a licence with the British Board of Control.
